Disabled Heroes
When the War is over...
And our soldiers come back home,
We praise them and applaud them,
Then forget they've ever gone...

We forget that they have crossed the sea,
To protect our homes and lives,
Alone they go to distant shores,
Leaving children, husbands, and wives.

The lucky ones return again,
But life is never the same,
Those of us who were left behind,
Could only imagine their pain.

Because they've served to keep us Free,
Americans should honor that deed.
And rally to the rescue,
Of our Disabled Heroes in need.

Instead of cutting the budget,
While pushing them aside,
Our country should be grateful,
And not let them be denied.

So Americans rally behind them,
To give the rewards they are due,
They have offered their lives for our country,
To protect family, friends and YOU!
