BY: Author James Wintle James Wintle, born and raised in Dexter, Maine, attended Dexter Schools upon which he started working at Fay & Scott Foundry and the machine shop. Jim served a year in the United States Air Force during World War II, returned to Fay & Scott and worked there for a number of years. He then moved to Ripley and went into the dairy business. After fourteen years, moved back to Dexter and went into the poultry business. Retired in 1975, Jim started writing as a hobby. Jim's effort was Editor of "THE BAPTIST LINK", a Bi-monthly Newsletter and "A HISTORY OF THE FREE BAPTIST CHURCH. Other books include "BASKETBALL MEMORIES OF DEXTER HIGH SCHOOL", photos & scores from 1903 to 1997, "DEXTER NICKNAMES", "A CENTURY OF DEXTER FOOTBALL", dating from 1892 to 1992 and "A HISTORY OF DEXTER SPORTS AND RECREATION".
