CARMON E. CHARTERS
Carmon E. Charters STETSON—Carmon E. Charters, 81, passed away February 9, 2006 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 3, 1924 at Levant, the daughter of Alby and Gertrude (Houston) Brann. She helped found the first Christmas Club in Stetson.

Carmon dearly loved her family, was proud of, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her “famous” Tuesday dinners.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph “Barney” Charters and her daughter, Shelley Rowell. She is survived by 3 sons, Trever Charters and companion Jan Devine of Newport, Thayne Charters and fiancée Tasha Hoyt of Etna, Kirk Charters and wife Annie of Stetson; 2 daughters, Margaret Curry and husband Harry of Stetson and Tammy Hodgdon of Levant; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Merrill, Kevin Curry, Jason Curry, Billy Charters, Jeff Charters, Michael Rowell, Lori Devlin, Chad Charters, Sara Charters, Serena Hodgdon, and Chris Hodgdon; 8 great grandchildren, Ben Merrill, Joshua Merrill, Tara Curry, Joshua Charters, Tyler Charters, Mykala Charters, Aaron Thayer, and Patrick Devlin; a brother, Alton Brann of Levant; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece Nancy Langley.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday, February 12th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in the Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson.
