CORINNA & SKOWHEGAN—Charles A. Packard, 59, died unexpectedly December 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 26, 1951 in Brockton, Massachusetts, a son of Charles and Evelyn (Provost) Packard. He graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1969. He had been employed for many years as a machinist at Mestek in Clinton.

Following the death of his father, his family fulfilled a lifelong dream to own and live on a farm, when they moved to Corinna, Maine from Massachusetts. He had a great love of animals and kept horses and sheep on their rural Maine 50 acre property. His favorite was his great horse, Aladdin.

He is survived by a brother, Philip of Fall River, MA; 2 sisters, JoannePackard of MA and Marie Blanchard of Skowhegan; 3 uncles, Wilbur and his wife Florence Provost of DeFuniak, Springs, FL, Gordon Provost of Brunswick, and Walter and his wife Regina Provost of Sarasota, FL; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Friday, December 30th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield with the Rev. Fr. Paul Murray officiating. Spring burial will be in the Nutter Cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine Veterans Home, 310 Cony Avenue, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
