Douglas Lee Bruner, 43, died unexpectedly, October 26, 2009, at his home in Corinna. He was born October 15, 1966, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, son of Virgil and Emma Jane (Acobert) Bruner. He served in the US Air Force, and at the time of his death had been working for G.E. Security in Pittsfield. He loved sled dogs and enjoyed sled dog racing. He was a caring husband, brother and son, and was always willing to help others. Doug will always be remembered by Heather's aunts and uncles for his helpfulness and always being there. He will be especially missed by his brother-in-law, Eric, for his friendship, and by the rest of his family and extended family.

He is survived by his wife, Heather (Bullock) Bruner of Corinna; his mother, Jane Bruner; paternal grandmother, Mabel Fergerson; 2 brothers, Jeff Bruner and Rod Bruner and his wife, Tracy; and a foster brother, Michael Bollen, all of Illinois.

Memorial services will be held at 3 PM, Friday, October 30, 2009, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street in Newport, with Deacon Frederick Harrigan officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 PM until the time of the service. For an online guest register, go to
