OBITUARIES

EARL H. DYER, JR.
HARTLAND, PALMYRA & BENTON – Earl H. Dyer, Jr., 77, died December 3, 2003 at Sanfield Rehabilitation and Living Center in Hartland. He was born September 1, 1926 at Palmyra a son of Earl Sr. and Vera (Appleby) Dyer. He attended Hartland and Palmyra schools and was a machinist Foreman at Keyes Fibre Machine Shop, and Mid-State Machine. He then operated his own shop, Standard Machine in Benton, until his retirement. He was a 44 year member of Keystone Lodge, AF & AM, in Bingham. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends; especially his many trips to Moosehead Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Bemis) Dyer of Benton; and a daughter Darlene Scott of Connecticut; 3 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special grandniece, Patricia Johnston of Pittsfield, who cared for him. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Anne in 1960; and brothers, Vincent, Gilbert, and Merle.

A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Morses Corner Cemetery in Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Maine Medical Center Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, c/o Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.
