Edna Mae Stevens BairdSEBEC - Edna Mae Stevens Baird, 78, died Aug. 20, 2002, at her home, following an extended illness. She was born April 15, 1924, in Milo, the daughter of John Stevens and Martha P. Reynolds. She had resided in Sebec since 1948. Edna was employed at Baxter Canning in Hartland and later at Hathaway Shirt Co. in Dover-Foxcroft as a supervisor for many years. Edna was an exceptional wife and mother to her family. She devoted herself to her family for more than 50 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Bennett Baird; her parents; three brothers, Linwood Staples, Carleton Reynolds, and Francis Reynolds. Edna is survived by her four daughters and five sons, Carol Baird Currier of Dover-Foxcroft, Carla Baird Bragan and husband, Robert of Sebec, Barry Baird and wife, Judy of Milo, Bruce Baird and wife, Caryl of Dover-Foxcroft, Harold Baird and wife, Joan of Sebec, Linda Baird Santiago and husband, Jim of Sebec, Roger Baird and wife, Lisa of East Dover, Elaine Baird Staks and husband, Austris of Weaver, Ala., Kurt Baird and friend, Patty of Dover-Foxcroft; 26 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at her home in Sebec, with the Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
