DEXTER, Francis J. Diadone, 80, died November 10, 2003 at a Dexter health care facility. He was born October 5, 1923 in Woodland, Maine in Washington County, son of James and Elizabeth (Cormier) Diadone. Francis graduated from St. Croix High School in Woodland, class of 1940. He moved to Dexter in the spring of 1941, serving his apprenticeship in the Fay & Scott Machine Shop and retiring in 1985 after 44 years of continuous service. He was a member of the Dexter Fire Department for 22 years, retiring as Captain. He was a past member of the Dexter Planning Board, and was a long time member of the Dexter Club. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion on October 27, 1997, by his parents, a sister, Exilia and 2 brothers, Eli and Joseph (Diddy) Diadone.

He is survived by a nephew and his wife, Richard and Nancy of Woodland; 2 sons, Duane Cote of Dexter and Alan Cote of Bradford; 2 wonderful loving nieces and families of his wife, Christie MacKenzie of Plymouth and Marion Whalen of Tyringham, Mass.; 3 grandchildren, Kim, Brenda and Shane Cote; and a close friend, Rev. John Holliday.

Graveside services will be held 10 AM Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dexter Fire Department. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
