G. Leonard NEWPORT—G. Leonard “Lenny” Holmbom, 50, died unexpectedly at his Newport residence.

He was born January 13, 1959 in Dexter, a son of Garald and Carolyn (Leavitt) Holmbom, Sr. He loved music and will be remembered as an accomplished guitarist. He was also an avid fisherman. He attended Pathway Community Church of Newport.

Lenny is survived by his mother, Carolyn Langert of Newport; 2 daughters, Hannah and Allyson Holmbom, both of Greenville; a brother, David Holmbom of Pittsfield; 2 sisters, Elizabeth and husband Roderick Thompson of Charleston and Candace and husband Michael Mullen of Hermon; 2 nephews, Joshua Holmbom and David VanNest, and 1 niece, Jennifer VanNest; 1 great niece Jocelyn Holmbom; 3 aunts; and friends, Kevin Cookson, Mark Huffer, Bill W., Julie Henderson, Ron Richardson and Gloria Thurlow. He will also be remembered by his ex-wife, Roxanne (Carr) Holmbom of Greenville.

A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, March 21st at Pathway Community Church, 220 Elm Street, Newport, with Pastor Tony Brown officiating. Spring burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Monson.

Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.
