OBITUARIES

GARFIELD S. WATSON
PALMYRA - Garfield S. Watson, 71, died February 14, 2008 at a Bangor hospital He was born November 5, 1936 in Wallagrass, a son of Leland and Auora (Caron) Watson. He attended Corinna Union Academy and served in the U. S. Army. He was employed for over 25 years at Irving Tanning Company in Hartland and was also self-employed as a locksmith and small engine repairman. Garfield was a member of the Church of Christ in Newport.

He is survived by a son, Steven and wife, Marie Watson of Jamaica, NY; a daughter, Diane Billington of Biddeford; 3 sisters, Edna and husband, Ronald Chase of Durham, Darlene and husband, Hugo Frati, and Bernice “Bunny” and husband, Jack Quirk, all of Hampden; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Leland Watson, Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4: 30 P.M., Monday, February 18th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. Monday. Spring burial will be in the Palmyra Village Cemetery.

A graveside committal service for Garfield S. Watson, who died February 14, 2008, will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 31st, at Palmyra Village Cemetery with Pastor Andy Owens officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
