OBITUARIES

GLADYS M. HAYNES
DEXTER – Gladys M. Haynes, 96, died May 15, 2002 at her residence. She was born April 5, 1906 at Troy the daughter of Oscar and Edna (Morton) Hathaway. She graduated from Maine Central Institute. Gladys was a life member of the Order of The Eastern Star, a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, but next to her family the most special thing in her life was her involvement with the Dexter Sunshine Club, in which she was actively involved until her passing. She was anavid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was dearly loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Gwen and husband Dean Thompson of Dexter, Janice and husband Brodie Ormon of North Leeds; 4 grandchildren, Daphne Sanders of MountVernon, Jan Nadeau of Auburn, Ian Ormon of Bristol, Vermont, and Jonahan Ormon ofNorth Leeds; five great grandchildren; a nephew and 2 nieces. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Ray Hathaway of St. Albans, and Victor Hathaway of Hampden.

Friends may call from 2-4 PM Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, May 18th at the Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lois Merrifield officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Sunshine Club, c/o Mrs. Nancy Baldwin, 59 Acadia Street, Dexter, ME 04930.
