STETSON, H. Darrel Seamans, 65, died peacefully January 6, 2007, at his home in Stetson, surrounded by his family. He was born December 5, 1941in Corinna, son of Hollis and Margaret (Fogg) Seamans. He attended Corinna schools. Darrel was always very active in church work and was attending the First Free Baptist Church in Dexter. He was employed at Dexter Shoe, the Hartland Tannery, and was a self-employed carpenter. Darrel was a co-owner of Southern Auto Sales in Dexter, and owned and operated Seamans Rugs and Wallpaper for many years. Darrel was an avid sportsman and loved to spend time hunting and fishing with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother of Dexter; his wife of 45 years, Carol (Andrews) Seamans of Stetson; 2 sons, Cary and his wife, Diane Seamans of Old Orchard Beach, and Darren Seamans of Newport; 3 treasured grandsons who gave him great joy, Tyler and Zachary Seamans of Old Orchard Beach, and Jared Seamans of Newport; 4 brothers, Trueman and his wife, Frances Seamans of Dexter, Richard and his wife, Morita Seamans of Corinna, and David and his wife, Sue Seamans of Lee, MA; 2 sisters, Jean and her husband, Ted Mountain of Corinth, and Faye Parker of Corinna; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Shirley and Robert; and a sister, Phyllis.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St. in Newport. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, at the First Free Baptist Church in Dexter with Pastor Will Walters officiating. Spring burial will be in the North Newport Cemetery.
