CORINNA- Harry Benecke, 83, passed away peacefully September 25, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Maple Shade, NJ, November 1, 1925, son of
Fred and Lillian Benecke. Harry was a private first class in the U.S. Marine corps during WWII. Following the war he worked for many years for Knechts and Sens in NJ,
before moving to Maine in 1977. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Doris (Hagelgans) Benecke; 7 brothers, and his "baby sister" Virginia Mullison.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Benecke of NJ, Dwayne and Nancy Benecke of Carmel, and Donna and Dean Batlis of SC; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Benecke, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Caroline and Harry Horton all of NJ.
