JOYCE M. PICARIELLO
HARMONY - Joyce Marie (Johnston) Picariello, 55, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 3, 1954 in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, a daughter of Richard and Grace (Foster) Johnston. She graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Pembroke, MA. On May 19, 1973, she married Douglas Picariello with whom she raised two sons. Joyce was the epitome of hard work and perseverance which she exhibited on a daily basis. She was most proud of completing her degree at Kennebec Valley Community College and her many years of dedicated service at the Harmony Elementary School. She was a member of the Maine Education Association and the Maine Speech Pathology Association. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and the extended family created through the many lives she touched performing the work she loved.

In addition to her loving husband, Douglas of Harmony, she is survived by her sons, Douglas and wife Elizabeth of Chicago, IL and Stephen and wife Ashley of Newport; her beloved grandchildren, Elisa and Trevor; her seven siblings, George Johnston, Donna Reese, Richard Johnston, Grace Hatch, Della Saccone, Doreen Saccone, and James Johnston; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 P.M. Friday, February 12th at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday with Deacon Frederick Harrigan officiating. Spring interment will be in Sugar Hill Cemetery, Harmony. Memorial donations may be made to the Harmony Ambulance Service, 37 North Road, Harmony, ME 04942.
