veteranHAMPDEN – Justin Jeffrey Giordano, 51, died unexpectedly April 27, 2002 while attending his daughter Annette’s graduation from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Chicago. He was born May 14, 1951 at Dover-Foxcroft a son of Dominic and Nadine (Briggs) Giordano. He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, Class of 1969. Justin served in the U. S. Marine Corps, then enlisted in the Army as a career officer, retiring in 1983 after he was medically discharged. He was a licensed Maine social worker, with an Associates degree in Human Services, and a Bachelors degree in Social Work,both from the University of Maine. He was a member of the Bangor Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marsha of Hampden; 3 sons, Anthony and wife Stephanie, of Old Town, Peter and wife Frances of Texas, and Marcus of Hampden; 2 daughters, Shera and Annette, both of Hampden; 2 brothers,Mark of North Carolina, and Dominic of Augusta; 7 sisters, Sandra Russell of Hartland, Marcia Harrington of Kittery, Roxanne Ladabouche of Vermont, Bridgette Bray of Florida, Cynthia Bayerdorffer of Willimantic, Sherrill Hayden of Augusta, and Nina Brawn of Dover-Foxcroft; 2 grandsons, Maximilian and Ethan Justin; and a lifelong friend and his wife, Jeffrey and Sheila Starbird of Dexter.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 – 6 PM, with services following at 6 PM Friday, May 3rd, at Bangor Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick officiating. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
