Kenneth R. Murray
GARLAND- Kenneth R. Murray, Sr. , 84, died February 22, 2012, at his home in Garland surrounded by family and friends. He was born February 28, 1927, in Corinna, son of Wilfred and Grace (Giles) Murray.

He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany during WWII. Ken married the love of his life, the late Marian (White) Murray, June 5, 1948. He went to work at Fay Scott Landis in Dexter in 1949, retiring in 1989. Ken was a charter member of the Garland Fire Dept. where he served for 40 years. He was a member of the Garland Baptist Church for many years, and served the church as a deacon. At the age of 62, Ken was proud to receive his GED from Dexter Regional High School. He loved family gatherings, camping and fishing.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon and her husband, Joe Lancaster of Milo, Joyce and her husband, Michael Brunk of Dexter, and Jayne and her husband, Rick Thompson of Garland; a son, Kenneth Murray Jr. and his wife, Angie of Garland; 3 brothers, Darrell, Mervin and Royce; 2 sisters, Pauline, and Charlotte; a half sister, Margaret; 3 half brothers, Jerry, Richard, and Joey; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson; many special friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marian; a brother Floyd; a grandson, Richard Thompson III; and a great grandson, Colby.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter, with Pastors Robert Young and Barry Buzzell officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service. Spring burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Garland.
