GUILFORD - Louise Evelyn Rumery, 69, beloved wife of the late Alonzo Rumery, went home to be with the Lord, March 25, 2002. She died at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Oakland, the daughter of Douglas and Macy (Shaw) Ellis. She grew up in Abbot and lived there most of her life before moving to Guilford in 1993. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. When she was nine, she contracted polio, which virtually left her left arm useless, but this didn't stop her from raising three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a mom, friend and confidant to everyone she knew.

She is survived by two sons and their children, Alonzo and his wife, Cathy Rumery of Westville, Okla. and their daughters, Lolita Rumery of Westville, Okla. and Cathy Hall and her children, Justin and Caleb, all of Wells, and Alonzo's son, Bill Rumery of Wells; Lester and his wife, Bonnie Rumery, and their children, Matthew and Jon, and grandchildren, Cullen, Jon Jr. and Savannah, all of Charlton, Mass.; a daughter, Macy and her husband, Butch Larrabee, and their children, Amy McGill and Amber Larrabee, all of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister, Constance and her husband, Stanley Carpenter of Abbot; a brother, Douglas and his wife, Marge Ellis of Monson. She was predeceased by two sisters, Maxine Patterson and Barbara Sprague; and a brother, Richard Ellis. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by friends and family alike, especially her dear friends, Mary Smith, Beverly Dow, and Vicki Dyer; and an aunt, Gladys Gooding.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Graveside memorial services at the family lot in Abbot Cemetery, will be announced later in the spring.
