OBITUARIES

MALAND J. WORSTER, SR
CORINNA—Maland J. Worster, Sr., 68, died July 15, 2002 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by his children. He was born September 19, 1933 at Prentiss, a son of Archie and Lena Worster. He came to Corinna as a young man to work on Fred Ray’s farm at Morses Corner and was a dairy farmer for many years. In 1973 he was employed as an auto mechanic for Hartley’s in Newport, where he worked until his retirement. Maland will always be remembered as an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, horseshoes, picking and selling strawberries, and family gatherings.

He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his five children, Kathie and husband, Ralph Knowles of Brewer, Nancy and husband, Michael Mullis of Corinna, Patty and husband, Jeffry Dorman of Exeter, Debra and husband, Peter Seamans of St. Albans, Maland “Jim” J.Worster, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Plymouth; brothers and sisters, Vernon and wife, Louise Worster, Clayton and wife, Mary Worster, Beulah and and husband, Sterling Thompson, Donald and wife, Shirley Worster, Guy Worster and friend, Marjorie, Katherine and husband, Ivan Smith, Merle and wife, Viola Worster, Norma and husband, Sterling Worster, Wayne and wife, Betty Worster, Marie and husband, Eldon Worster; 11 grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as GRAMP, Kristie (Knowles) and husband, David Jandreau, Craig Knowles, Jason and wife, Tanya Mullis, Nathan and wife, Jamie Dorman, Jeffry, Joshua, Jennifer, Israel “Izzy” and Shawn Dorman, Terri and Jaime Seamans, Jessica and Nicholas Worster; 5 great grandchildren, Sabrina and Nathan Jandreau, Samantha Mullis, Ethan and Hannah Dorman; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Dorilda Worster. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie B. (Belmain) Worster; brothers, Richard, Lloyd, Claire, and Dale; sister, Bernice Dill and special life long friends, William and Rose Ogden.

Friends and relatives may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18th at the Corinna Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Libby officiating. Burial will be in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
