MALCOLM H. "MAC" HERRING
Malcolm, along with his brother Lorin, owned and operated Herring Brother's Meats in Guilford since 1945. Malcolm and Lorin worked side by side for many years building a business that is now being carried on by the 4th generation of Malcolm's family. He enjoyed his work, and meat cutting was his passion. He learned his meat cutting skills from his father. He has made his last delivery of meat, he has written his last payroll check, he has made his last pass through the shop, he has made his last trip to Piper Pond to camp. He has completed his journey of life and has crossed over to his loved ones. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and was very dedicated to his family. He was a member of the Valley Grange # 144 in Guilford Center.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth (Fitzsimmons) Herring of Guilford; 2 daughters, Susan Coleman-Herring and her significant other, James of Milton, Mass., and Andrea Gilbert and her husband, Thomas of Guilford; a sister, Mary Herring Salley and her husband, James of Dover-Foxcroft; grandchildren, Christine Chambrello, Thomas Torrey and his wife, Alicia, Ellie Patterson and her husband, John, Trey Gilbert and his wife, Jaime; great grandchildren, Mckenzie, Tommy, Tyler, Haylee, Bryce, Eve, Kobe, and Gavyn; a cousin, Neola Davis; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Lorin Herring in 1995.
