Marjorie A. (Moon) Downs They moved to Pittsfield in the early 1950s so the children could attend schools there and lived in the house the family built on the Snakeroot Road. Marjorie had worked at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, Dexter Shoe Company in Dexter, and most recently worked as a driver for Penquis CAP. She enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her husband, Carroll “Red” Downs of Pittsfield; her 5 children, Tammy Worster of Hartland, Timothy Kennedy of New Sharon, Trudy Kennedy of Princeton, Texas, Tony Kennedy of Newport, and Trina Mathews of Riverview, FL; 1 sister, Barbara Hart; and 2 brothers, Charles and Colby Moon, all of Pittsfield; 9 grandchildren, Barry and Randy Worster, Jeremy and Shannon Kennedy, Aaron Silverman, Rachael Shelburne, Jessica Russell, Naomi Sanders, and Marie Fitzgerald; 7 great grandchildren, Emma Worster, Brook and Carter Kennedy, Francesica Silverman, Alyssa and Rosa Belch, and Connor Shelburne; several nieces and nephews. Graveside committal services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, October 19th, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, with the Rev. Buddy Gough officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
