OBITUARIES

MARK DAVID BECKWITH
GREENVILLE - Mark David Beckwith, 33, passed away peacefully Dec. 31, 2005, at a Braintree, Mass. hospital. He was born Aug. 5, 1972, in Portland, the son of Wayne Beckwith and Karen York Davis. He was a 1991 graduate of Greenville High School where he played first base for the 1990 Greenville High School State Championship baseball team. He also attended Southern Maine Technical College, where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. His family and friends will forever be grateful to Jason, Ian and Erin for making it possible to enjoy 15 years with him and to Mark for his courageous and valiant fight to stay with us. He will continue to be a source of strength and courage for all who knew him. Mark loved playing baseball, his trumpet and baritone in the school band and being a member of the Key Club. His greatest loves were his family, friends and many caregivers from Greenville to Portland, who provided him with wonderful care and countless cribbage matches. He was predeceased by his sister, Dianna Marie Beckwith.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Karen and Larry Davis; his father and stepmother, Wayne and Pamela Beckwith; and his beloved sister, Sherri Lynn Beckwith; paternal grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a very special friend, Lori Anne Cummings, the light of his life.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 2, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Visiting hours will also be held 5:30 p.m. until time of funeral service 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Greenville High School auditorium, with Dr. Robert Veon, officiating. Please join the family following the service to celebrate Mark's life at the Masonic Temple in Greenville. Burial will be held in the Greenville Cemetery in the spring.
