PATRICIA A. ARNO
For thirty years she worked in accounting at Irving Tanning in Hartland. In 1991, she left the tannery to pursue her dream of owning her own retail clothing store. She successfully owned and operated the Patricia-Ann Shop in Newport. Sadly the business closed in 2002, so that Pat could take care of her husband who was battling cancer and had also suffered a stroke.
She was a proud member of the Grace Linn United Methodist Church and throughout the years sat on many of its committees, taught Sunday Day School and Vacation Bible School. She was also active in numerous community clubs including the Couples Club, Christmas Club, and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, to name a few.
She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 55 years in 2008, and her beloved daughter Vicki in 2005.
She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Hicks of Brewer; her son Craig and wife Joan Arno of Palmyra; granddaughters, Kristi and husband Aaron Bartlett of Exeter, Dara and husband Jeffrey Sargent of Hampden, Jill and husband Wesley Millett of Detroit, Amy Arno and companion Matthew O’Connor of Portland; great grandchildren, Dakota, Gerald and Abigail Bartlett, Alexis Millett, and Parker Millett, due to arrive in May.
Memorial services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, February 26th at the Irving Tanning Community Center in Hartland. Spring burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Grace Linn United Methodist Church, 8 Seekins Street, Hartland, ME 04943; or to Sebasticook Valley Hospital emergency waiting area renovation, c/o Mrs. Julie Clark, 447 North Main Street, Pittsfield, ME 04967.
