BAR HARBOR - Pauline May Collier, 54, died Dec. 14, 2002, at her home. She was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of David S. and Thelma E. (Knowles) Weymouth. Polly grew up in Abbot and Guilford. She was a proud member of Piscataquis Community High School, Class of 1966. Polly was first runner-up for Miss Guilford in 1966. She attended Husson College and went to work as bookkeeper for Frenchman's Bay Boating Co. in 1967. It was here that she met her husband of 35 years. They purchased the business in 1972, after the birth of their two children. Her children were a major focal point in her life. Polly managed the office portion of the family business and in 2000 became a partner in the Bar Harbor Jam Co. with Robert Rechholtz. Polly has too many special friends to mention. She has a special aunt, Marjorie "Rill" Decrow; they cared for each other in their times of need. She was a former member of the Alpha Phi Sorority and a past board member of the YWCA of Bar Harbor.

Polly is survived by her beloved husband, Robert V. Collier; her parents of Abbot; a son, Dean V. Collier of Bar Harbor; and a daughter, Sandy L. Collier of Stanley, Idaho; two sisters, Katy Ann Weymouth of Prospect and Brenda Jean Libera of Abbot; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Jordan-Fernald, Bar Harbor Chapel, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. A celebration of Polly's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, 29 Mt. Desert St., Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Dr. Sandra L. Reed and the Rev. Joyce Ingrisano presiding.
