Pauline "Polly" Knowlton
DEXTER – Pauline “Polly” Knowlton, 89, passed away January 21, 2013 at Dexter Health Care following a long illness. She was born June 16, 1923 in Parkman a daughter of Fred and Minnie (Kierstead) Hayes. She attended Sangerville High School. She also worked for many years as a CNA and retired from Pride Manufacturing in Guilford.

Polly was a life member of Conner-Trafton Post # 119 American Legion Auxiliary and was a past president and secretary. She was also Past Fifth District President and Secretary/Treasurer. She was a member of the First Universalist Church of Dexter.

She is survived by her husband LeRoy; sons Brian Colbry and wife Barbara of New Jersey, Brent Colbry and wife Deborah of Etna, Malcolm “Mickey” Colbry and wife Debbie of Dover-Foxcroft; daughter Diana Baird of Porter; step-son Brian Knowlton; and step-daughters, Nancy-Jo Brewer and Heidi Langan; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; and step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and 5 brothers. The family would like to thank the staff of Dexter Health Care and Dr. Robert Lodato for their fine care of Polly.

Burial services will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Services will be announced at a later time. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Universalist Church of Dexter, P. O. Box 294, Dexter, ME 04930-0294. Those who wish may leave written condolences at

DEXTER – Graveside committal services for Pauline W. Knowlton, who died January 21, 2013, will be held 1 PM, Friday, May 10th, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
