Alice Walker Gallagher NEWPORT - Perley Glenwood Goodrich, Sr., 76, died at his residence. He was born July 7, 1933 in Wellington, a son of Chester Goodrich and Freda Potter.

He graduated from Cornville High School and served for 8 years in the U. S. Army. Perley was a self employed woodsman and also worked for many years at Dexter Shoe Company as a night watchman. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Perley was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Newport.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Carter) Goodrich of Newport; 2 sons, Perley Goodrich, Jr. of Newport, and Kenneth Goodrich of Corinna; a daughter and husband, Nancy and Ben Watson of Stetson; 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, November 5th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Preacher Andy Owens officiating. Those who wish may leave written tributes at
