PITTSFIELD - Rodney E. Bane, 65, passed away May 5, 2009 near his home in Pittsfield. If there was one that died because of hard work, it would have been Rod. He was born March 9, 1944 in Hartland, a son of Linwood and Winifred (Ham) Bane. Rodney attended Pittsfield schools including Maine Central Institute. On May 19, 1962, he married Eloise Reynolds. He started out working on the family farm and in the woods at a young age. Except for a few days off for hunting and fishing through out the year, you would find him working. He worked nearly right up to his death, worked hard and was a good provider. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had many pictures and stories to verify it. Rod didn't require many toys, except for a fishing pole, an old boat, and a few guns. Each year, he looked forward to the ice going out to begin fishing, the first day of hunting season and going to camp.

At the time of his death, he was a member and attended the Burnham Baptist Church. Rod was a born again believer and he has made a new home in Heaven.

Graveside committal services for Rodney Bane, Sr., who died May 5, 2009, will be held 2 PM Tuesday, May 26th, at the Village Cemetery, Burnham, with Pastor Albert Thibault officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
