OBITUARIES

ROGER B. FLANDERS
SANGERVILLE- Roger B. Flanders, 65, passed away peacefully at home, May 13, 2010 after a hard- fought battle with cancer. He was born January 23, 1945, in Dover-Foxcroft, son of Margaret Dyer.

He grew up in Sangerville and graduated from Piscataquis Community High School. Roger worked for Guilford of Maine and FayScott Landis Machine Co. in Dexter before starting a career as a machinist and tool maker for Pride Manufacturing, where he worked for 35 years.

Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time in the woods around his home in Sangerville. He enjoyed gardening and collecting and tinkering on tractors and anything mechanical. Roger reached out to assure the well being of his family and others before himself, and always looked at the positive side of life; "don't sweat the small stuff".

He was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine Flanders; and a son, Dennis Ralph Flanders.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Drew) Flanders of Sangerville; his mother of Guilford; a son and his wife, Brian and Jenny Flanders of Dedham; a daughter and her husband, Lorri and Stanley St. Pierre of Newport; a stepson and his wife, Joseph and Mondae Lizotte of Waterboro; and 4 grandchildren, Ashley Daigle, Andrew Lizotte, Jacob Lizotte and Hannah Lizotte; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Village Cemetery in Sangerville.
