GUILFORD, Roland G. Church, 69, died June 16, 2002 at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. He was born October 25, 1932 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, son of Clifford and Irene (Still) Church. He worked for most of his life as a woodsman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great respect for nature and loved the outdoors. Rollie was a great husband, father and friend; always ready to lend a helping hand. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Mary Jane Thornley Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Penny Nicholas and friend Carlene Bernosky of Conn., Sue Estes of Bangor, Bette and her husband, Richard Carson of Guilford, Donna and her husband, Ken Harmon of Abbot; a son Rusty Church of Guilford; 11 grandchildren, Greg Nicholas, Carissa Ogden, Jacob Estes, Nicole Church, Joanna, Richie, and Dustin Carson, Kenny, Corey, Casey, and Cara Harmon and 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald and his wife, Beverly Church of Dover-Foxcroft; a cousin, Charles Church of Portland; many nieces and nephews;.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Tuesday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. David McLeish officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
