OBITUARIES

ROSE C. STOVER
NEWPORT - Rose Stover, 75, died August 11, 2009 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born May 3, 1934 in Midland, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (Craven) Rataj. She was employed as a cigar maker in Philadelphia before moving to Maine in 1970. Rose was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Palmyra.

She is survived by 3 sons, John Clark of Texas, Joseph Clark of Pennsylvania, and Troy Stover of Connecticut; 3 daughters, Roseanna Bickle of New Jersey, Jacqueline Jones of Missouri, and Barbara Clark of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, including a granddaughter, Miranda Thomas, whom she raised; several cousins. She also leaves a close friend, Che Collins.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 14th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Thomas Duplessie officiating. A reception will be held at St. Martin's hall following the service. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
