DOVER-FOXCROFT - Russell J. Clewley, 84, died Jan. 25, 2003, at his home in Wau-toma, Wisc., with family after a year of illness. He was born in Holden, Sept. 21, 1918, the son of Eugene Elrado and Helen (Jordan) Clewley. He graduated from Brewer High School and went into the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Congregational Churches in the towns where he worked for New England Telephone & Telegraph, from which retired at 62. He was a member of the Mason's and the Shriner's organizations for many years. At fair time you could find him at the beano tent in Dover, tending tables. He also enjoyed fishing at the lake. He was predeceased by his wife, Adelle (Getchell) Clewley, his parents; his brothers, Everett, Isaac, Albert, Rodney, and Ashley Clewley; two sisters, Arlene Orcutt and Evelyn McIntire.

He is survived by two daughters; Janet and husband, Willard Robinson, of Wautoma, Wisc., and Karen and husband, Ronald Patten, of Dover-Foxcroft; one son, Malcolm Clewley and wife, Loretta, of Divide, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grand-children.

Burial will be in the spring at the Clewleyville Cemetery in Eddington.
