OBITUARIES

SANDRA ANN (POMROY) POULIN
Sandy Poulin RIPLEY - Sandra A. Poulin, 62, died February 11, 2006 surrounded by family at her home in Ripley, after a prolonged struggle with cancer.

Sandra, a daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Merservey) Pomroy, was born and raised in Dexter, where she met and married Raymond H. Poulin, Jr, who survives her after 45 years of marriage. Together, Sandra and Ray raised three sons: Peter, his wife Liz, and their two daughters, Paige and Meaghan, all of Austin, TX; David, his wife Monica, and their three children, Travis, Lillian, and Olivia, all of Wayland, MA; and Michael, his wife, Sherri, and their children Grace and Remington, all of Dover-Foxcroft. Sandra is also survived by her sisters, Jane (Pomroy) Jacobson of Westbrook, and Roselle (Pomroy) McDonald of Florida; as well as her mother-in-law, Germaine (Gilbert) Poulin of Dexter.

Soon after marrying, Sandra and Ray lived in Dover-Foxcroft, where they made many lifelong friendships that endure today. Sandra worked at Hibbard Nursing Home, and then at Hayes Law Office as a legal secretary.

In the fall of 1977, they bought land in Ripley and built their home. Back in the Dexter area, she renewed the friendships that were always such an important part of Sandra’s life. She first worked at Plummer Memorial Hospital, the same hospital in which she was born. After two years at Plummer, she joined Dexter Family Practice, as the office manager, where she was employed for ten years. After a very brief retirement, she worked for SAD #46 Special Education, helping two Downs Syndrome students, and finally, for ten years as a secretary at the Dexter Middle School, retiring in 2004.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday (closed casket) at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday, February 15th, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Father James Robichaud officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
