GREENVILLE - Simone (Gagnon) Ward, 76, died Nov. 23, 2003, at Charles A. Dean Hospital. She was born April 24, 1927, in Onawa, the daughter of Doriala and Alice Gagnon. Though she had many interests, Simone enjoyed painting, photography and was an avid reader. Simone spent most of her life dedicated to raising her five children before entering into a career of her own and caring for others. She worked for many years as a nursing assistant and EMT at Charles A. Dean Hospital and Ambulance, serving the community of Greenville. She truly loved her work with the ambulance service. Simone was predeceased by her husband, Arthur and a son, Bruce. She was also predeceased by her sister, Rita and two brothers, Rene and Roland.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan; sons, John, Michael and Timothy; daughters-in-law, Lori, Debbie, Tanya and Karen; grandchildren, Gabriel, Jacob, Christopher, Shayna, Charlie, Reva and Cameron; sisters, Lucille, Yvette and Marguerite and sisters-in-law, Betty Ward, Julia Warman and Christina Ward.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 12, at McCrory Funeral Home. Donations in Simone's memory may be made to the Charles A. Dean Nursing Home Van Fund, care of Debbie McGrath.
