Vernard McKenney DEXTER - Vernard L. McKenney, 83, died peacefully June 14, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. He was born September 12, 1925 in Dexter, a son of Culbert and Flossie (Thompson) McKenney. He worked for Fay-Scott Machine Shop in Dexter for many years and retired from Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pittsfield.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret (Bates) McKenney of Dexter; 3 children, Richard McKenney of Corinth, Jane Hall of Dexter, and Tamara Headlee of Texas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, an infant son David, 2 brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held June 17th at Crosby & Neal, Dexter, with Clermont Spencer officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
