NEWPORT – Vutes Pauline (Stotelmyer) McFarland, 90, died August 30, 2005 at a Waterville hospital. She was born January 21, 1915 at Frederick, Maryland, a daughter of James and Clara (Mull) Stotelmyer. On December 25, 1924, she married the late Leamon “Lee” McFarland. Vutes was an artist and was well-known for her series of “Mice” cards. She attended the Clinton Baptist Church for many years.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Helen Lewis of Newport, and Linda Raven of Clinton; a son, LeRoy Leamon McFarland of Onawa; 2 nephews, Lyndy Bradstreet of Hartland, and Gene Page of Lincoln; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, September 2nd, at the Clinton Baptist Church, with Pastor Robert Philbrick officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in Townhouse Hill Cemetery, Clinton. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
