Peaceful and Free
The road was winding through the narrow gorge
Walls so high the sun barely shone
Yet the beauty was relentless
Rocks, trees and cactus’ filled the voids

High overhead an Eagle was soaring
He is so beautiful and free
Swooping down he grabs his prey
Off he goes to perch on a dead tree

The sun shinning from the west
Black Clouds rolling in from the east
Lightening dancing from cloud to cloud
Thunder rattling the earth, there is no rain

The desert floor so dry and barren
Yet the beauty made me stand in awe
Flowers, shrubs and animals abound
This is the most beautiful place I ever saw.
