ADELINE D. BURROUGHS
DIXMONT – Adeline D. Burroughs, 87, died August 17, 2002 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born December 29, 1914 at Woodland (Aroostook County) a daughter of James and Helen (Smith) Skidgel. She was a member of the Women of The Moose. Adeline was predeceased by her husband, George T. Burroughs, who died May 7, 1979. They had owned and operated a vegetable farm in Dixmont for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Lister of Newport; a brother, Sidney Skidgel of Plymouth; and a sister Lois Skidgel of Clinton; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday, August 21st. Burial will be in the family lot, Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth.

A reception will follow the committal at the home of Carol Small on the Young Road in Etna.
