OBITUARIES

ALBERT W. BICKMORE SR
DEXTER - Albert W. Bickmore Sr. passed away peacefully Nov. 5, 2008, at home. He was born June 6, 1937, in Charleston, the eldest son of Wendell and Avaline (Lovejoy) Bickmore, who predeceased him.

Albert grew up in Bradford and attended schools there before joining the U.S. Air Force. When he returned home, he held a variety of interesting jobs right up until his retirement.

In his later years his greatest passion was playing cribbage and he won numerous tournaments. He also was a loyal congregant of Dexter Pentecostal Church, where he was known by all.

He is survived by his former wife and good friend, Kay (Louise) King; his son, Albert Jr. of Oregon; his stepchildren, Hope Glidden, Jerry Carrow and Lester Carrow of Dexter; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Albert is also survived by five siblings, Joan Blackwell, Janice Cynewski and Timothy Bickmore, all of Corinth, Raymond Bickmore of Charleston and Rosemary Canney of Old Town; an aunt, Estelle Berman of New Jersey; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Charleston Village Cemetery with the Rev. Lyman Curtis, of Dexter Pentecostal Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dexter Pentecostal Church, care of the Rev. Curtis, 48 Railroad Ave., Dexter, ME 04930. Arrangements by Direct Cremation of Maine.
