ALEX J. ATKINSON
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Alex J. Atkinson, 39, husband of Barbara (Burke) Atkinson, died Feb. 10, 2006, at his home. He was born Sept. 6, 1966, in Bangor, the son of Paul and Dorothy (Shannon) Atkinson. A graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1985, Alex was active in sports and continued to share this interest and commitment by coaching at the junior high and high school levels.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Dover-Foxcroft; four sons, Anthony, Caleb, Jared and Alex Jr. "A.J."; a brother, David Atkinson and his fiance, Deb Hanscom, of Hermon; two sisters, Karen Cox and her husband, Roger, of Hermon and Colleen Nelson and her husband, Scott, of Dover-Foxcroft; his father and mother-in-law, Gary and Joan Burke of Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at St. Thomas Aquinas Holy Family Parish, Dover-Foxcroft, with Fr. James Robichaud, celebrant. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Dover Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to benefit his children's education to Barbara Atkinson, P.O.
