ALICE GARNETT WILLEY
CORINNA-Alice Garnett Willey, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, January 18, 2007 after a brief illness at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 13, 1918 in Corinna, a daughter of Carl and Grace (Miller) Garnett. Alice was a long time resident of SunshineVillage in Corinna. She attended Newport schools and worked at Moosehead Mill and later at Eastland Woolen Mill until her retirement. She was a former member of the Corinna American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities in her early years. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sister, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching basketball. Alice was “Gram” to everyone who knew her. Gram’s family was her top priority. She was involved in all the activities of the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Gudroe and husband Robert of Corinna; one brother, Harold Garnett and wife Charlene of Mount Vernon; 3 grandchildren, Wanda Butler and husband Chip, Diana McNaughton and husband Ralph, all of Newport, and Alan Gudroe and wife Dee of Lakeland, FL; 6 great grandchildren, Jarrett Butler and wife Nikki, Nicholas Butler, Adam McNaughton and wife Lindsay, Brandon McNaughton, Rachel Jeffs and husband, Bob, and Marcy Gudroe; 7 great great grandchildren, Morgan, Ethyn, Lexi, Samantha, Alana, Blake, and Mariah; several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by a brother, Norman Garnett; a sister, Ruth Rideout; and a great grandson, Ryan Butler.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 P.M. Monday, January 22nd at the Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. with Rev. Sharon Lovejoy officiating.
