ALMA B. JENKINS
GUILFORD - Alma B. Jenkins, 82, died March 20, 2002 at a Skowhegan hospital. She was born November 10, 1919 in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of J. Frank and Pearl (Crozier) Roberts. She grew up on the family farm in Abbot where she was Valedictorian of the last class to graduate from Abbot High School in 1938. On March 26, 1939 she married Gus A. Jenkins who predeceased her in 1976. After retiring from Guilford of Maine in 1982, Alma enjoyed spending time at her Piper Pond camp. She was a very loyal, dedicated member of area organizations with Chiquita Temple of Pythian Sisters, the Rebekahs, American Legion Auxiliary, Garden Club, and the Guilford Historical Society being the ones where she was most active as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include a brother, Dr. Norman F. Roberts and wife Shoko of Pearl City, Hawaii; a sister, Katheryn E. Sakahara and husband Glenn, of Abbot; nieces Rusella (Mitchell) Johnson, Robin Roberts, and Kathryn (Roberts) Yamate; nephews Richard, Jon, Jay, Timothy, Norman Jr., and Kenneth Roberts; and many grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Myona G. Mitchell, a brother, Duane C. Roberts, and a nephew, Ronald L. Mitchell. She also will be remembered by her special caregivers at Somerset Rehab and Living Center in Bingham.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2002 from 2-4 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. A committal service will be held 1 pm Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Guilford. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
