OBITUARIES

ANINE MARIE EDES
GUILFORD - Affectionately known as Neen. First born of Edwin T. and Avis (Burgess) Edes of Guilford has succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimer's disease in her prime at the age of 54 years and 6 months, July 11, 2005, at her home in Sebago. A woman with a heart as big as all outdoors. Passionate in life, setting lofty goals for herself. Tenacious, she exceeded those goals and perfected any task at hand. An extraordinarily gifted teacher, a talented musician, and a treasured friend to all who knew her. Neen was predeceased by her son, Johathan Burgess Stanford.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are her son, Christopher and wife, Jen Stanford, and his dad, Bennett L. Stanford; siblings, Thomas and wife, Laurie Edes, his son, Jerod Edes and his friend, Fawn, Karine and husband, Gary Downs, their children, Jeremy and his wife, Bethany Downs and Joanna and her husband, Jeryme Smith, William and wife, Doris Edes, Robert and his children, Jessika, Thomas, and Cole Edes; and Neen's long time sister-in-law, Sherrill French. In addition are her "little people" in whom she took great delight, Taylor Smith, MacKenzie and Trinity Downs, and Kelsey Nason. Also surviving are her friend, Shirley Brown and family, with whom she made her home and who cared for her in her final years. She leaves her loyal companion, her yellow lab, Toby.

Neen's life mission was to ensure that all students under her tutelage knew from the inside out that they were unique treasured individuals. She will be sorely missed by many.
