OBITUARIES

ARTHUR Q. BAILEY
PARKMAN, Arthur Q. Bailey, 74, died suddenly, March 11, 2004, at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born July 15, 1929, in Parkman, son of Ernest and Nina (Thurston) Bailey. He served in the US Army and worked for most of his life in road construction. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cambridge and the Parkman Grange. He enjoyed flying and restoring antique equipment.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband Cathy and David Elderkin of Parkman; 2 brothers, Jim Bailey of Carmel and Stub Bailey of Cambridge; 2 sisters, Dot Mountain of Dexter and Joyce Kimball of Cambridge; 3 grandchildren, Seth and his wife Tricia Elderkin of Parkman, Stacie and her husband, Peter Knight of Guilford and Shannon Elderkin of Parkman; 2 great grandsons, Bailey and Austin Elderkin both of Parkman; several nieces and nephews, including 3 special nieces, Ann and her husband, Geno Murray, Judy and her husband, Kirby Turner all of Greenville and Laurie Lee and Alan Haggan of Fairfield; sister-in-law, Charlene Casey of Greenville and brother-in-law, Henry Morrill of Bingham; his mother-in-law, Livonia Andrews of Greenville. He was predeceased by his wife, Boneta (Morrill) Bailey, a son, Arthur Jr.; 3 brothers, Ernest, Dana and Howard.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Friday May 21, 2004, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cambridge, with Pastor Lewis Bell officiating. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society, One Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, Maine 04086-1240. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
