BARBARA (MOODY) ROULLARD
GUILFORD, Barbara (Moody) Roullard, 89, died November 11, 2003, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born April 20, 1914, in Madison, the daughter of Orion and Mabel (Caldwell) Moody. After the death of her mother, she was brought up by a very dear aunt, Dora (Moody) Dill. She graduated from Madison High School as Valedictorian, attended Farmington Normal School and was a member of the class of 1936 at Bates College. On June 19, 1937, she was married to Edward Roullard of Skowhegan. They lived in Sanford, North Anson and finally moved to Guilford in 1958 where she taught school for several years. She attended the Guilford United Methodist Church and has been a member of the Piscataquis Retired Teachers Association, and the Zephyrus and Abaris Clubs. She was respected and loved by all who knew her. All of her family sought her wise and steady wisdom. She was a focal point of stability in the lives of her children and grandchildren and we are all better people for having known her; she was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years in 1989 and a great grandson, Brian Gene Hersey in 1998.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Dr. Paul and Jane (Mayo) Roullard of Embden; twin daughters and their husbands, Janet and Richard Hersey and Joyce and Darold Applebee all of Guilford; 8 grandchildren, Mary Jane Roullard of Skowhegan, Debra Stergion of Nashua, New Hampshire, R. Scott Hersey and his wife, Rene of Greenville Jct., Barbara Stone and her husband, Baxter of Guilford, Karen Ward and her husband Ardene of Brewer, Mark Applebee and his wife Denine of Milford, Mass., Edward Roullard of Munich, Germany, Dr. Ronald Hersey and his wife, Debra ofAvon, Mass.; a sister, Elizabeth O’Malley of Castine; and a niece, Jane O’Malley of Orrington and 14 great grandchildren surviving.

At her request there will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday November 15, 2003, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak Street in Guilford with the Rev. Dr. Margaret (Dodie) Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers those wish may make donations to the Physically Challenged Group, Piscataquis Regional YMCA in Dover-Foxcroft or to the Guilford Memorial Library.
