BEATRIX (JACKSON) BRAY She taught school for 34 years in Monson, Blanchard, Parkman, and Guilford. She married Clair B. Bray on July 16, 1937. Beatrix was a member of N.E.A., M.T.A., P.C.R.T.A., and M.R.A., and was a former treasurer of S.A.D. #4 Teacher’s Club. She was a member of the Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, the Monson United Church of Christ, and the U.C.C. Guild; was a past Matron of Almeda Chapter #149, O.E.S. and Past District Deputy of District #17 of the Grand Chapter of Maine; Past Worthy High Priestess of the former Hosanna Shrine #3, White Shrine of Jerusalem; Past President of the former Woman’s Club of Guilford; Past Regent of Tisbury Manor Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, served as State Historian for 3 years, and served as State Chairman of several committees in the State Society DAR. She was a former member of the J.T. Club of Sangerville and was a former librarian of the Sangerville Public Library. Beatrix is survived by a sister-in-law Evangeline Jackson of Monson, Me and Whispering Pines, NC; a special niece by marriage Kathleen Jackson of Falmouth, ME; nephew Leslie Bray and wife Jo Ann of East Lyme, CT; niece Edythe Bray Gervais and husband Ludger of Skowhegan, ME; grand nephews Tory Jackson, wife Kristen and son Dexter of Kings Beach, CA; Jeremy Jackson of Portland, ME; Todd Bray, wife Stacy and daughters Megan and Katie of Dayton, ME; Timothy Bray, wife Camille and sons Christian and Cole of Preston, CT; Derek Gervais, wife Lori and daughter Olivia of Waterville, ME; grand nieces Thayle Jackson Heggie and husband David of Greensboro, NC; Katrina Jackson of Hoboken, NJ; Tricia Gervais Anderson, husband Dwight and children Dylan and Jordan of Dayton, ME; and Kristy Gervais Scheinfeldt and husband Erik of Holden, MA. She was pre-deceased by her husband Clair, brothers Clifton and Clayton Jackson, nephew Dexter Jackson, brother-in-law Edward Bray, sisters-in-law Hilda Bray and Olive Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford with Pastor David Bures officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Monson.
