Bernard A. Lam
HARTLAND– Bernard A. Lamb, 93, died January 3, 2013 at a Hartland healthcare facility. He was born February 3, 1919 in Fiskevile, Rhode Island, a son of Patrick and Mary (Ashey) Lamb. He moved to Maine in 2009. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a Master Sergeant. His military career was from 1940 to 1956. Bernard was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a trade embalmer for many years in Rhode Island. He enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening. Everyone he knew will miss his sense of humor.

He is survived by 2 sons, Bernard, Jr. “Bernie” and wife Trudy Lamb of Pennsylvania, Alan and wife Chris Lamb of Ohio; 3 daughters, Frances and husband Paul Weldon of Florida, Maureen Lamb and her companion Peter Reynolds of Rhode Island, and Diane and husband Don Briggs of Plymouth; a sister Elsie Oliver of Rhode Island; several nieces nephews and friends, who will miss him dearly; and his beloved canine companions, Sammy and Jake.

Bernard was predeceased by his wife Norma; 2 daughters, Anne Kennemer and Cathleen Lamb; 2 brothers, Henry and Thomas Lamb; and 3 sisters, Margaret Bicknell, Rita Havens, and Katherine Rouselle.

There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be held in the spring in Maine. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com
