BESSIE "BESS" M. LEWIS
PLYMOUTH—Bessie “Bess” M. Lewis, 89, died April 5, 2008 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born October 21, 1918 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of John and Marian (Benjamin) McCarthy. She graduated from Milford High School in CT. Bessie was a member of the AARP and had attended the Detroit United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, William and wife Maureen Skinner of Plymouth; 2 stepsons, Ronnie Taylor of Henniker, NH; and Donnie Taylor of CT; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William and a daughter, Betsy Frazier.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 8th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Samai officiating. Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth, later in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State Street, Augusta, ME 04330.
