BEVERLY G. MURRAY
NEWPORT - Beverly (Garland) Murray, 81, died unexpectedly June 18, 2009 at her Park Avenue residence. She was born August 3, 1927 in Carmel a daughter of Earl and Gladys (Mayo) Garland. She graduated from Carmel High School, Class of 1945 and Delore's Beauty School in Bangor. She owned and operated Beverly's Hair Fashions in Newport since 1947, and established a thriving business on the corner of Elm and Park Streets. Beverly enjoyed her relationships with friends and customers she made over the years. She took great pride in her work and it was appreciated by her many loyal customers. It pleased her that her daughter Debbie followed in her footsteps. She was a devoted and loving mother and enjoyed seeing both of her children advance in their chosen careers.

Few were aware of the fact that she was generous to the poor and assisted many people who had suffered setbacks in their lives. Beverly was a member of Nokomis Chapter #42, Order of The Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James A. Murray of Newport; a son, Danny and fiancée Debbie Bishop, and a daughter Deborah and husband Randy Davis, all of Newport; a sister and husband Gloria and Erwin "Kip" Soule of Bar Harbor and West Palm Beach, FL; brothers and sisters in law, Charles and wife Frannie Murray of Indiatlantic, FL, and Frank and wife Lena Pray of Newport and Osteen, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
