OBITUARIES

BLAINE A. NEAL
ST. ALBANS - Blaine Alden Neal, 78, passed away peacefully with his wife Dot, family and friends by his side September 20, 2009. He was born August 17, 1931 at St. Albans, a son of Albion and Edith (Leavitt) Neal. He served as a corporal in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Blaine was a well known mechanic and welder having operated his own garage for many years. He also worked at Butler's Garage, Weeks and Sons Well Drilling, and for the Town of St. Albans. He retired from Irving Tanning in Hartland. He was a talented welder, mechanic and musician. An avid sportsman, he especially loved fishing. He had the ability to make something out of nothing - a definite "McGyver", and will be missed by all who knew him.

Blaine was a member of the Corinna Post American Legion and the Newport Post 11191 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Newport.

He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Lewis Neal and Jim Edwards; and 2 sisters, Barbara Estes and Shirley Ryder.

He will be remembered and loved by his family left behind: wife Dot Neal; children, Wanda (Dennis) Goodrow, Johnnie (Camellia) Neal, Bonnie (Kenneth) Moreau, Douglas Neal and Sandra Graves; and step children, Sandy and Mike Larrabee; grandchildren, Samantha Neal, Shawna Taleo, Amanda Morris, Lisa and Jessica Hyson, Matthew and Nathan Goodrow, Jessica Charrier, Steven Shaw, Jr., Paul and Megan Moulton, Allen, Shanon and Jazmyn Wing; 7 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Darrell (Ethel) Neal, Wayne (Lorraine) Neal, Robert Neal, Carroll Neal, Dorothy Bates and special friend Joe Bates, Laura Smith, and Mary Almeda Page; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ben, Diane, Ginny and Little Ben.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday with Dean Neal officiating. Burial will be in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U. S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
