OBITUARIES

CARL R. NUTTER
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Carl R. Nutter, 69, died unexpectedly March 20, 2006, at his winter home in Citrus Springs, Fla. He was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Brewer, the son of Emory and Marie (Hogan) Nutter. Carl grew up in Thorndike and was a graduate of MCI high school. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy. He married Irene Scribner in 1955, and they happily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past fall. A successful businessman, Carl started Penquis Surge in Dover-Foxcroft in 1960. He retired 36 years later, but remained very active in the business following his retirement. He was a long time member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Dover-Foxcroft; four sons, Michael Nutter and his wife, Shelley, of Bowdoinham, Mark Nutter and his wife, Denise, of Dover-Foxcroft, David Nutter and his wife, Carol, of Brunswick, Daniel Nutter and his wife, Kelly, of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Donna Albanese and her husband, Frank, of Stockton Springs; a brother, Norman Nutter and his wife, Clara, of Lunenburg, Mass.; and nine grandchildren. Carl will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Lary Funeral Home.
