CATHERINE 'TOODIE' ELIZABETH JONES YOUNG
DEXTER - Catherine Elizabeth Jones Young, passed away suddenly Aug. 29, 2005, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. Catherine was born March 15, 1942, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of John Francis Jones Sr. and Catherine Cantwell Jones. Catherine is one of Jerry Lewis' Kids, she dealt with Muscular Dystrophy for her whole life but despite that, she made the best life for all those around her. As a teenager she was a gifted singer, she sang at the Catholic Church and was involved with The Brystal Singers in Southwest Harbor. Catherine fought for the right of her son, Robert and by doing so her grandson, Christopher and all of the handicapped children have had the best full lives they can have. Catherine opened alot of doors for the parents of the special children.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Young Welch and her husband, Charles Welch of Charleston; her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Mary Young of Bangor; her son, Robert Edward Young Jr. of Bangor; her grandson, Christopher "Chris" Robert Young; grandson, Nicholas "Nick" Arthur Young and granddaughter, Kathleen "Katie" Bridget Welch, all of Bangor. She is survived by her very special nephew, Shamus Jones of Florida; her very special aunt, Mary Morios and her husband, Hank of Florida; her Godmother, Ellen Maclassic of Bar Harbor. She is also survived by very special friends, Sam and Anne Dawson of Dexter, and all the staff and friends that she made while she was at the Dexter Health Care Center in Dexter. While she was there she really livened the place. Catherine was predeceased by her father, mother and brother, John.

Friends are invited to call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor, where the Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Redeemer Church in Bar Harbor, with Fr. John O'Hara presiding. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Bar Harbor. Following the interment, family and friends are invited to a gathering for fellowship and refreshments to celebrate her life at the church.
